👉 Self-Portrait
- In short, self portrait is a self-representation in any creative form including painting, drawing, sculpture, design, etc. It is a visual depiction of the self.
- A self-portrait artwork represents how the designer sees himself, and what he feel, or how he wants people to perceive him about.

I love recording my life with a camera, just like my life saying "Do what you love, love what you do". It is very pleasant to record what I like with my favorite camera, which has become an indispensable identity symbol for me. Therefore, I decided to draw a cartoon version of myself holding the camera , along with my hobbies (travel, baking, design, listening to music etc in symbol style) floating above the camera when I press the shutter, symbolising my love for photography and the joy of recording life while doing what I love.
Feedback
The background needs to be improved, the color is monotonous. It can use other colors such as light blue to make the work more exciting and highlight the theme. Besides, it is better to remove or lighten the brown line to make the floating effect and character more unity. The layout space of hobby elements can be random and not so uniform, but keep the balance principle in mind. It is recommended to add some variation in size as well.
Final Design
I am a photographer and cafe lover. As my life says "do what you love, love what you do", I love recording my life while doing what I love. Every time people see me with a camera, it has become an indispensable status symbol for me.
Reflection
In project 1, by thinking about how I see myself and how others perceive me, I have a better understanding of what kind of person I am, which I usually don't think much about. In addition, I also have a deeper understanding of design principles. Because I'm used to designing works with similar color tones, I am afraid to try colors with contrasting effects, which leads to designs that are too monotonous and unobtrusive. After Dr. Jin Chi‘s suggestions, the overall visual effect is more effective, making the design more layered. During this experience, my perception of color has improved, and I will be more courageous to experiment with different colors in future works to achieve the best results.
